- The Republic uses euros; Northern Ireland uses sterling.
Inresa och visum
Ireland applies its own admission rules outside Schengen. British citizens have Common Travel Area rights; other travellers must check Irish nationality and visa rules. A Schengen visa is not valid for entry. UK visas only qualify under defined schemes, often requiring prior lawful entry to the UK.
Passets giltighet: Carry a passport valid for your journey; British citizens should check carrier passport-only requirements even where no passport is legally required.
