העיקר
- Check roadblocks and fuel availability before each journey; do not try to cross protest blockades.
- Visa rules use three nationality groups. The Foreign Ministry moved US and UAE citizens into visa-exempt Group I in December 2025.
- Carry small BOB notes and allow time to adjust travel plans during the November–March rainy season.

Bolivia classifies tourist entry by nationality: Group I is visa-exempt, Group II requires a visa and Group III requires prior immigration consultation. US and UAE citizens were added to Group I in December 2025. Verify your passport group with a Bolivian consulate; a visa application is not an automatic arrival permission.
