  • FCDO advises against all travel to Transnistria; common foreign bank cards do not work there.
  • Take some cash for rural areas and local markets.

Inresa och visum

British and US visitors may stay visa-free for up to 90 days in a six-month period. Normal border arrivals are registered automatically; entry via Transnistria requires separate registration with Moldovan authorities within 72 hours. Check the current rules for your nationality.

Passets giltighet: British visitors: at least 3 months after planned departure, with a blank page.

  • Cards are widely accepted in urban areas but cash is important in rural areas. Foreign currency is not legal payment for domestic transactions.
